MiraDry at Yaan Clinic
Gangnam –
Before You Visit
If you’re planning MiraDry Fresh in Gangnam Seoul and trying to figure out what a visit to Yaan Clinic actually involves — the booking process, what happens on the day, how pain is managed, what aftercare looks like, and how to get there — this guide covers it without the sales language.
The MiraDry Fresh Lounge –
What the Setup at Yaan Clinic Looks Like
MiraDry Fresh at Yaan Clinic is set up as a dedicated private-room experience. From arrival to departure, you stay in the same room — consultation, mapping, anesthesia, treatment, LDM Healing Therapy aftercare. No moving between floors or waiting areas in between.
The room itself operates on a hotel suite concept: private, with disposable amenities, and sized for a single patient and their accompanying staff — doctor, coordinator, nurse. You can choose a male or female physician before the session begins. Both are available for MiraDry Fresh specifically, not just as a general clinic option.
The written Treatment Certificate is issued at the end of your session — documenting the number of shots delivered and energy used. It’s a record of exactly what was done, which matters if you’re comparing across clinics or want verifiable documentation for a second visit.

The Full Session Flow –
Consultation Through Aftercare
The whole session runs about an hour for most patients. Here’s the sequence — what happens, in order, and roughly how long each step takes.
Arrival & Consultation (~15 min)
You’re shown directly to your private room. The doctor reviews your case — sweat patterns, whether odor is a concern, any prior treatments — and explains what the session involves. Questions about results, recovery, or whether a second session might be needed are covered here. No time pressure.
Sweat Gland Mapping (~10 min)
The doctor marks the treatment area — the location, range, and distribution of your underarm sweat glands. The design extends slightly beyond the standard zone to reduce edge gaps. This step is done by the treating physician, not delegated.
Local Anesthesia (~10–15 min)
Tumescent local anesthesia is administered across the treatment area. This is the part most patients are most anxious about going in — the injections themselves. Yaan Clinic offers the optional Air Nox system (nitrous oxide) during this step for patients who want additional comfort. It’s not sedation — you remain fully conscious — but it takes the edge off the anesthesia injections noticeably.
MiraDry Fresh Treatment (~20–25 min)
The handpiece is applied to the mapped area in passes. The device delivers microwave energy to the tissue depth where sweat and odor glands sit, destroying them, while cooling the skin surface. With good anesthesia in place, most patients describe this as pressure rather than pain.
LDM Healing Therapy (~10 min)
Applied immediately after the procedure. Most clinics cool the treatment area post-MiraDry — which reduces the thermal effect. Yaan Clinic applies LDM Healing Therapy instead: a low-frequency laser aftercare step that maintains the heat in tissue longer while reducing the inflammatory response. The practical result is that swelling tends to resolve faster than with standard post-cooling protocols.
Certificate & Aftercare Instructions
Before you leave, the Treatment Certificate is issued — shot count, energy level, session details. Written aftercare instructions in English. Follow-up available via WhatsApp if questions come up at home. Most patients are on their way within the hour.

Pain Management –
What Air Nox Does and Doesn’t Do
The most common anxiety about MiraDry Fresh isn’t the microwave treatment itself — it’s the anesthesia injections. Large-volume tumescent anesthesia involves multiple injections across the underarm area. That’s what patients are asking about when they search “does MiraDry hurt.”
Yaan Clinic offers the Air Nox system as an optional add-on for this specific step. Air Nox is nitrous oxide — the same gas used in dental offices for anxiety and discomfort management. A few things worth knowing about it:
What it does
Reduces anxiety and discomfort perception during the anesthesia injection phase. Takes effect quickly, wears off within minutes of stopping. Most patients who use it describe the anesthesia step as significantly more manageable.
What it doesn’t do
It’s not sedation. You remain fully conscious and responsive throughout. You won’t need a companion to drive you home. Daily activities are possible the same day — the gas clears fast.
Is it necessary?
No. Many patients complete the anesthesia step without it and find it manageable. Whether it’s worth adding depends on your personal pain tolerance and anxiety level around injections. Ask the clinic when you book — it’s an optional extra, not a default charge.

Booking & What to Prepare –
For International Patients Especially
A few practical things that come up often for patients traveling to Yaan Clinic from outside Korea.
How to book
WhatsApp (+82 10 5308-0499) or KakaoTalk are both fine. WhatsApp tends to be more convenient for international patients. English-speaking staff respond during clinic hours. For fixed travel dates, reach out at least 2–3 weeks ahead — procedure slots book out faster than consultation slots.
What to prepare before arrival
Shave underarms 1–2 days before the procedure — not the morning of. No deodorant or antiperspirant on the day. Wear loose clothing with easy underarm access; a sleeveless top or something you can comfortably remove to the waist works well. If you take blood-thinning medications or supplements (aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E), check with the clinic about stopping them a few days prior.
Planning around recovery
Most patients are back to desk work the next day. If you’re traveling, avoid scheduling anything physically demanding — hiking, heavy bags, strenuous activity — for the 5–7 days after the procedure. Day-of activities like walking around Gangnam are fine for most. The swelling is real but not disabling.
If a second session might be needed
The second session question only gets answered at the one-month follow-up — not before the first. If you’re traveling from abroad and want to plan for that possibility, talk to the clinic before booking flights. Some patients schedule two trips; others extend their initial stay. Either approach works. See the before and after guide → for what drives the second session decision.
